The Saudis… they’re our close allies in the War on Terror. They’re standing behind us all the way. With knives in their hands.

Zakir Naik who believes it is permissible for terror groups such as Islamic State (Isis) to have sex with their female slaves has been awarded the Saudi Arabia’s King Faisal international prize for his contribution to promote Islam.

Naik, president of the Islamic Research Foundation, was one of five recipients of the King Faisal international prize from Saudi Arabia’s King Salman during a ceremony at a luxury Riyadh hotel.

The Muslim cleric has previously sparked worldwide outrage for publicly advocating capital punishment for homosexuals and people who renounce Islam. He also said husbands can beat their women with moderation and called for India to be ruled by Sharia law.

Naik is president of the Islamic Research Foundation. He also founded the Peace TV channel where, in 2008, he declared the 9/11 attacks were not carried out by terror group al-Qaeda as it was “an inside job”.

By “inside job”, he meant the Jews did it. That’s one reason to get an award from the country the hijackers were actually from.

But Naik has spent a lot of time contributing to the promotion of Islam. Like the time he said every Muslim should be a terrorist.

He supports Al Qaeda on his television channel: He says, “If he Osama Bin Laden is fighting the enemies of Islam, I am for him. If he is terrorizing the terrorists, if he is terrorizing America the terrorist, the biggest terrorist, I am with him. Every Muslim should be a terrorist.”

The Saudis do take him at his word.
